- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 can beer (Amber Ale preferred)
- 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Spicy Pork Rub
- 1/2 pound bacon (cooked and crumbled)
- 2 links smoked sausage with cheddar (sliced)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound chorizo
- 3 cans beans (Great Northern and Navy beans)
- 3 large jalapeño peppers (sliced)
- 1 small onion (diced)
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 220°F and prepare a grill-safe pan with cooking spray.
- In a sauté pan over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and chorizo until fully cooked.
- While browning the meat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, beer, apple cider vinegar, pork rub, and mustard in a mixing bowl. Simmer until sugar dissolves.
- In the grill-safe pan, mix drained beans, diced onion, sliced jalapeños, cooked meats, and the prepared sauce; stir gently.
- Place on the grill for one hour at 220°F; then increase temperature to 325°F and cook for an additional 30–60 minutes until thickened.
