Ingredients
- 2 lb beef (flank steak or New York strip)
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup neutral oil
- 4 stalks green onion
- 3 bell peppers
- 1 large onion
- 2 tsp ginger powder
- 4–5 garlic cloves
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp Sriracha sauce
Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the beef and cut against the grain into thin strips. Coat with cornstarch and let sit.
- Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add beef strips in batches and cook until browned (3–5 minutes). Remove and set aside.
- In the same wok, stir-fry bell peppers and onion for about 3 minutes. Add garlic and ginger; cook for another minute.
- Whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and Sriracha in a bowl.
- Return beef to the wok with vegetables, pour in the sauce, and toss until well coated. Cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Garnish with green onions before serving over rice or noodles.
