  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (112 grams) (softened)
  • 24 drops green food coloring
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract (to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 22 1/2 cups powdered sugar (220275 grams)
  • 12 tablespoons heavy cream (or whipping cream or milk, as needed)
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate (about 3/4 cup chocolate chips) or 170 grams (or 50% dark chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (112 grams)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate together over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar, then add eggs one at a time.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, flour, and salt until combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  4. Allow the brownies to cool completely before adding mint frosting made by mixing softened butter, peppermint extract, food coloring, salt, and powdered sugar until fluffy.
  5. Top with melted chocolate mixed with butter. Refrigerate for at least an hour before cutting into squares.
