Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups dry short grain sushi rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 can (12 oz) Spam
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 3 sheets roasted seaweed nori

Instructions

  1. Rinse sushi rice until water runs clear. Cook with water in a rice cooker according to instructions.
  2. Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Once the rice is cooked, stir this mixture into the rice.
  3. Slice Spam into thick pieces and brown in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes.
  4. Caramelize Spam by adding soy sauce and sugar mixture; simmer until sauce thickens.
  5. Assemble by layering rice and Spam on nori, then roll tightly and seal with water.
