  • 6 strips bacon
  • ¾ lb. ground beef
  • 1 ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ lb. rotini pasta
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup chicken or beef broth
  • 1 ½ teaspoon steak seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons butter (or bacon drippings)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
  • 2 teaspoons ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons dill pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 3 tablespoons flour

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, fry bacon until crispy, then set aside and reserve drippings.
  2. Brown ground beef in the same skillet with steak seasoning; drain grease and set aside.
  3. Boil rotini pasta in salted water until al dente; drain.
  4. Prepare cheese sauce by making a roux with reserved drippings and flour, then whisk in cream, milk, and broth.
  5. Stir in mustard, ketchup, pickle juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce; bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Reduce heat and gradually add cheddar cheese until melted.
  7. Mix ground beef and half of the bacon into the sauce before folding in drained pasta.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with remaining bacon.
