Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Mix in melted butterscotch chips, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to wet ingredients alternating with buttermilk until just combined.
  4. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. While cooling, prepare the frosting by beating butter and powdered sugar until creamy; mix in butterscotch sauce and heavy cream.
  6. For the crunch topping, mix pecans, pretzels, brown sugar, and melted butter until coated.
