Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin cheese (garlic and herb flavor)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and cook the seasoned chicken for 6–7 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and let rest before slicing.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and toast the orzo for about 2 minutes until golden.
- Pour in the chicken broth, stir well, cover, and simmer for 8–10 minutes until the orzo absorbs most of the liquid.
- Stir in Boursin cheese until melted; if using heavy cream, add it along with Parmesan cheese.
- Return sliced chicken to the skillet and toss gently to combine. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
