  • 14 ounces caramels, unwrapped
  • 5 ounces canned evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips gently.
  5. Spread half of the mixture into the prepared dish and bake for about 10 minutes until slightly golden.
  6. Meanwhile, melt caramels with evaporated milk over low heat until smooth.
