  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter (melted for brownies), ½ cup cold (for cookies)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 large egg (for brownies), 1 large egg (for cookies)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (for brownies)
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour (for cookies)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF (175ºC).
  2. For the brownie layer, mix melted butter and sugar until combined. Stir in cocoa powder, then add egg and vanilla extract. Mix in flour, baking powder, salt, and white chocolate chips.
  3. For the cookie layer, cream cold butter with sugars until fluffy. Add egg and optional vanilla; mix well. Incorporate flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips.
  4. In a greased baking pan, spread brownie batter evenly. Spoon dollops of cookie dough over it.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
