  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • 1 Onion (finely diced)
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth (low sodium)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (sliced)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper; mix gently until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 6–8 oval patties and let them rest.
  3. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat and brown each patty for about 3–4 minutes per side; remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until softened. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes before gradually whisking in beef broth and heavy cream until smooth.
  5. Nestle the browned patties back into the gravy, cover tightly, and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
