  • ¼ cup fine granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp fine sea salt
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups plus ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup black cocoa

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer, cream together butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add sea salt, vanilla extract, and egg; mix until combined.
  3. Gradually incorporate all-purpose flour until fully blended.
  4. Divide the dough in half; mix one half with black cocoa and leave the other plain.
  5. Wrap both halves in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for at least one hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Roll out each dough into rectangles, layer them, slice, stack, roll again, and shape into logs.
  8. Slice logs into even cookies and bake for about 12 minutes until set.
